1. Information We Collect

When you create an account on GovtBudget.com, we collect your name, email address, and optionally your organization and phone number. We also collect usage data such as pages viewed, features used, and the dates and times of your visits.

Payment information (credit card numbers, UPI IDs) is processed directly by our payment partners Razorpay and Stripe. We do not store your payment credentials on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and maintain our service, including budget data access and export features
Process payments and manage subscriptions
Send transactional emails (account verification, password resets, payment receipts)
Schedule and manage expert consultation bookings
Enforce usage limits based on your subscription tier
Improve our platform based on aggregate usage patterns

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Cloudflare's global infrastructure, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We implement rate limiting, bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and security headers (CSP, HSTS) to protect against common attacks.

4. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set performance and security cookies as part of its CDN and DDoS protection services.

5. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following service providers, strictly for the purposes described:

Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, database, caching, bot protection
Razorpay — payment processing for Indian customers
Stripe — payment processing for international customers
Resend — transactional email delivery

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at privacy@govtbudget.com. You can also delete your account from the dashboard settings page.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, we retain anonymized usage statistics for analytics purposes but delete all personally identifiable information within 30 days.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email.
